Meadows Interfaith Chapel (Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, Terminal D)

I recently had a frustrating travel experience! I was flying from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Denver, Colorado, and my flight time was changed several times before finally being cancelled. At least, being stuck for hours at DFW gave me the chance to visit the beautiful Meadows Interfaith Chapel, which is located in the airport at Terminal D.
After all, this is a travel blog about visiting churches, so what is more appropriate than visiting a chapel inside the actual airport?

The Meadow's Chapel is new! The chapel had its ribbon-cutting ceremony in March 2019, when the chapel was moved from its previous location in Terminal D to its new home near gate D40.
I had never been to see an airport chapel before, but I had plenty of time at the busy Dallas airport, so I thought I ought to pay it a visit while I was there.

All are Welcome, the sign proclaims. The DFW Airport Interfaith Chaplaincy truly is just that: interfaith. The clergy staff are of diverse religious backgrounds, and the chapel is mindfully designed for use for peoples of all (or no) faith.
Upon entering the chapel, past a beautiful stained glass window, the first thing that one notices are the showers for Islamic ablution, used by Muslim worshipers to cleanse and purify themselves before prayer. Against the back wall of the chapel, a comprehensive library holds works from many of the world's faiths: the Bible, Quran, various Buddhist scripture, the Book of Mormon, the Book of Common Prayer, The Bhagavad Gita, and the Zohar, among others.

A few rows of chairs face the beautiful modern stained glass window. The chapel is dimly lit, quiet, and incredibly peaceful. It's a good place to take a moment to breathe in the midst of the stress and chaos that is international travel.
The chapel serves travelers, military, and airport staff. While there are several scheduled services throughout the week (of a variety of religious traditions), anyone is welcome to visit the chapel at any time.
There is a chapel in every terminal of DFW Airport, but all services are held at the Meadows Chapel in Terminal D.
